It was a pleasure to participate on the panel “A Playbook Toward Operationalizing Responsible AI” with Diletta De Cicco (@EU_EDPB), Eirik Gulbrandsen, (@Datatilsynet), Charles Helleputte (@SPB_Global) organised in Brussels as part of the IAPP European Congress.”There is no need,” I emphasised, “to choose between Responsible AI and Privacy and we should not ask people to choose but, on the contrary, as institutions we have a duty to ensure a sustainable development and deployment of AI while respecting fundamental rights starting, of course, with the right to privacy.”I am confident that this is a goal that is also accessible thanks to an open and multi-stakeholder dialogue such as the one promoted by IAPP through an event attended by over three thousand people representing many different components of society.
