USA, LA FCC PERSEGUIRA’ UNA INDAGINE SULL’IMPATTO DELL’INTELLIGENZA ARTIFICIALE SU ROBOCALL E ROBOTEXTS
Jessica Rosenworcel, Presidente della Federal Communication Commission, ha dichiarato che verrà avviata una indagine sull’impatto dell’intelligenza artificiale sulle robocall e sui robotext, con il fine di eliminare “questa spazzatura”. Alla Agenzia sarà chiesto anche di raccogliere informazioni su questo argomento specifico e di prepararsi al meglio ai cambiamenti che le tecnologie basate sulla AI apporteranno alle chiamate e agli sms. La FCC in fine valuterà come i sistemi emergenti di IA potrebbero influenzare i diritti alla privacy dei consumatori.

UE, NUOVI EMENDAMENTI AL REGOLAMENTO DATI SANITARI
Lo Spazio europeo dei dati sanitari (European Health Data Space, EHDS), è stato presentato dalla Commissione nel maggio 2022, e ha come obiettivo primario quello di regolamentare la trasmissione e la condivisione dei dati sanitari e di “liberare” il loro pieno potenziale ad uso delle parti interessate quali i pazienti, gli operatori sanitari, i responsabili politici e i ricercatori. Il dossier, visionato da Euractive, attualmente è nelle mani dei legislatori dell’UE – il Parlamento europeo e il Consiglio dei ministri – che stanno preparando i loro emendamenti alla proposta della Commissione prima di avviare i colloqui interistituzionali per approvare le nuove regole.

GIAPPONE, YAMAHA MOTOR CONFERMA LA VIOLAZIONE DEI DATI IN SEGUITO AD UN ATTACCO RANSOMWARE
Yamaha Motor ha dichiarato che lo scorso 25 ottobre si è verificata una violazione del server gestito da Yamaha Motor Philippines nella filiale di produzione e vendita di motociclette dell’azienda nel Paese. Nel comunicato è stato specificato che “ sono stati colpiti da un attacco ransomware, e che è stata verificata una parziale fuga di informazioni personali dei dipendenti conservate dall’azienda”. L’azienda ha poi concluso di aver ripristinato tutti i server e i sistemi di Yamaha Motor Philippines che non sono stati colpiti dall’attacco. L’incidente non ha riguardato la sede centrale e le altre società del gruppo Yamaha Motor.

USA, THE FCC WILL PURSUE AN INVESTIGATION ON THE IMPACT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ON ROBOCALLS AND ROBOTEXTS
Jessica Rosenworcel, Chairwoman of the Federal Communication Commission, said that an investigation into the impact of artificial intelligence on robocalls and robotexts will be launched, with the aim of eliminating ‘this junk’. The agency will also be asked to gather information on this specific topic and to better prepare for the changes that AI-based technologies will bring to robocalls and robotexts. The FCC will ultimately consider how emerging AI systems might affect consumers’ privacy rights.

EU, NEW AMENDMENTS TO THE HEALTH DATA REGULATION
The European Health Data Space (EHDS), was presented by the Commission in May 2022, and aims to regulate the transmission and sharing of health data and to ‘unlock’ their full potential for use by stakeholders such as patients, health professionals, policymakers and researchers. The dossier, seen by Euractive, is currently in the hands of EU legislators – the European Parliament and the Council of Ministers – who are preparing their amendments to the Commission’s proposal before starting inter-institutional talks to approve the new rules.

JAPAN, YAMAHA MOTOR CONFIRMS DATA BREACH FOLLOWING RANSOMWARE ATTACK
Yamaha Motor said that on 25 October there was a breach of the server operated by Yamaha Motor Philippines at the company’s motorbike manufacturing and sales subsidiary in the country. In the statement it was specified that ‘a ransomware attack occurred, and a partial leak of personal information of employees stored by the company’. The company then concluded that it had restored all servers and systems of Yamaha Motor Philippines that were not affected by the attack. The incident did not affect Yamaha Motor’s headquarters and other group companies.
