UE, IL CONSIGLIO ADOTTA IL DATA ACT
Il Consiglio ha adottato il Data Act, la nuova legge avrà come obiettivo quello di “liberare” un enorme potenziale economico contribuendo in modo significativo alla creazione di un mercato interno europeo dei dati. L’utilizzo dei dati sarà potenziato e si apriranno nuove opportunità a vantaggio dei cittadini e delle imprese in tutto il territorio europeo. José Luis Escrivá, Ministro spagnolo della trasformazione digitale, in una sua dichiarazione ha sottolineato che per produttori e fornitori di servizi ci sarà l’obbligo di consentire ai loro utenti di accedere e riutilizzare i dati generati dall’uso di prodotti e servizi. Gli utenti poi avranno facoltà di condividere i dati con terze parti.
UK, LE NUOVE MODIFICHE ALLA LEGE SEULLA PROTEZIONE DEI DATI CONSENTIRANNO NUOVE OPPORTUNITA’ POST BREXIT
Nel regno Unito a breve verranno introdotte delle modifiche al disegno di legge sulla protezione dei dati e sull’informazione digitale. Le modifiche hanno l’obiettivo di reprimere una serie di frodi prime tra tutte quelle previdenziali. In base al nuovo testo si potranno chiedere dati a terzi, in particolare a banche e organizzazioni finanziarie, per aiutare il governo britannico a ridurre le frodi sui sussidi e risparmiare al contribuente fino a 600 milioni di sterline nei prossimi cinque anni. Attualmente, il Dipartimento per il Lavoro e le Pensioni (DWP) può intraprendere controlli antifrode su un richiedente solo su base individuale, quando c’è già un sospetto di frode.

UK, DATA BREACH, I DATI DEGLI UTENTI DELA BRITISH LIBRARY SONO STATI PUBBLICATI NEL DARK WEB
Il 20 di novembre si è aperta sul dark web un’asta, conclusasi dopo 7 giorni, nella quale sono stati messi in vendita file delle risorse umane della British lLibrary. L’esfiltrazione è stata confermata anche dalla biblioteca che ha anche comunicato che dietro tutto questo c’è un attacco del cartello di ransomware che dopo aver sottratto i dati ha anche messo off line i sistemi per settimane lasciando la biblioteca in grado di operare solo un servizio minimo.

EU, COUNCIL ADOPTS DATA ACT
The Council has adopted the Data Act, the new law will aim to “unlock” enormous economic potential by contributing significantly to the creation of a European internal market for data. The use of data will be enhanced and new opportunities will be opened up for the benefit of citizens and businesses throughout Europe. José Luis Escrivá, Spanish Minister for Digital Transformation, in a statement emphasised that manufacturers and service providers will be obliged to allow their users to access and re-use the data generated by the use of products and services. Users will then be able to share data with third parties.

UK, NEW CHANGES TO DATA PROTECTION LAW WILL ALLOW NEW OPPORTUNITIES POST BREXIT
In the UK, changes to the Data Protection and Digital Information Bill will soon be introduced. The changes are intended to crack down on a number of frauds, first and foremost social security fraud. Under the new text, data can be requested from third parties, particularly banks and financial organisations, to help the UK government reduce benefit fraud and save the taxpayer up to £600 million over the next five years. Currently, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) can only undertake anti-fraud checks on a claimant on an individual basis, when there is already a suspicion of fraud.

UK, DATA BREACH, BRITISH LIBRARY USERS’ DATA WAS PUBLISHED ON THE DARK WEB
On 20 November, an auction opened on the dark web, which ended after 7 days, in which files of the British lLibrary’s human resources were put up for sale. The exfiltration was also confirmed by the library, which also reported that an attack by the ransomware cartel was behind it, which after stealing the data also took the systems offline for weeks, leaving the library able to operate only a minimal service.
