UE, COMMISSIONE APRE INDAGINE SU X PER PRESUNTE VIOLAZIONI DSA
Secondo la Commissione europea X potrebbe aver violato il Digital Services Act (DSA) in aree legate alla gestione del rischio, alla moderazione dei contenuti, ai dark pattern, alla trasparenza della pubblicità e all’accesso ai dati per i ricercatori ed è per questo che ha avviato una indagine. Sono state avviate anche delle indagini preliminari compresa l’analisi del rapporto di valutazione dei rischi, del rapporto sulla trasparenza e delle risposte di X a una richiesta formale di informazioni che riguardava la diffusione di contenuti illegali nel contesto degli attacchi terroristici di Hamas contro Israele.

EDPB, PUBBLICATA RELAZIONE CHE ANALIZZA L’APPLICAZIONE DEL GDPR NEGLI ULIMI 5 ANNI
Nel corso ‘ultima plenaria, l’EDPB – Comitato europeo per la protezione dei dati- ha presentato il suo contributo alla relazione della Commissione europea sull’applicazione del GDPR. L’EDPB ha messo in evidenza come l’applicazione del GDPR nei primi 5 anni e mezzo sia da ritenersi un successo e per questo ritiene prematuro rivedere il GDPR in questo momento e invita i legislatori a stabilire ulteriori norme procedurali sull’applicazione transfrontaliera il più rapidamente possibile. Il presidente dell’EDPB ha concluso sottolineando come il GDPR ha contribuito a rafforzare, modernizzare e armonizzare i principi di protezione dei dati in tutta l’UE. La cooperazione tra le autorità di protezione dei dati e l’applicazione del GDPR sta ottenendo risultati significativi e l’EDPB è fortemente impegnato a garantire un’applicazione efficace e uniforme del GDPR.

USA, DATA BREACH, VIOLATI I DATI DI 14,7 MILIONI DI CLIENTI DI MR COOPER
Mr. Cooper, noto negli USA come il gigante dei mutui, sta inviando lettere a 14,7 milioni di persone nelle quali si notifica che i loro dati personali sono stati rubati in un attacco cibernetico. L’incidente è stato scoperto il 31 ottobre e ha comportato la chiusura di alcuni sistemi, inclusi quelli per i pagamenti dei clienti. Secondo le indagini, circa 14,7 milioni di proprietari di case hanno visto esporre i loro dati personali tra cui nomi, indirizzi, date di nascita, numeri di telefono, numeri di previdenza sociale e numeri di conto corrente. E’ stata vaiata prontamente una indagine interna.

EU, COMMISSION OPENS INVESTIGATION ON X FOR ALLEGED DSA VIOLATIONS
According to the European Commission, X may have violated the Digital Services Act (DSA) in areas related to risk management, content moderation, dark patterns, transparency of publicity and access to data for researchers, which is why it has opened an investigation. Preliminary investigations were also launched, including an analysis of the risk assessment report, the transparency report and X’s responses to a formal request for information concerning the dissemination of illegal content in the context of Hamas terrorist attacks against Israel.

EDPB, REPORT PUBLISHED ANALYZING THE APPLICATION OF THE GDPR OVER THE LAST 5 YEARS
At its last plenary, the EDPB – European Data Protection Board – presented its contribution to the European Commission’s report on the application of the GDPR. The EDPB pointed out that the implementation of the GDPR in the first five and a half years is to be considered a success and therefore considers it premature to review the GDPR at this point in time and urges legislators to establish further procedural rules on cross-border enforcement as quickly as possible. The EDPB chairman concluded by emphasising how the GDPR has helped to strengthen, modernise and harmonise data protection principles across the EU. Cooperation between data protection authorities and GDPR enforcement is achieving significant results and the EDPB is strongly committed to ensuring effective and uniform application of the GDPR.

USA, DATA BREACH, DATA OF 14.7 MILLION MR COOPER CUSTOMERS BREACHED
Mr Cooper, known in the US as the mortgage giant, is sending letters to 14.7 million people notifying them that their personal data was stolen in a cyber attack. The incident was discovered on 31 October and resulted in the shutdown of some systems, including those for customer payments. According to investigations, about 14.7 million homeowners had their personal data exposed, including names, addresses, dates of birth, telephone numbers, social security numbers, and bank account numbers. An internal investigation was promptly launched.
