UE, L’EDPB LANCIA UNO STRUMENTO DI AUDIT DEI SITI WEB
L’EDPB ha lanciato in questi giorni uno strumento di verifica dei siti web che permette di analizzare la conformità dei siti alla legge europea. Questo strumento è stato creato da un gruppo di esperti di supporto dell’EDPB ed è disponibile per il download su code.europa.eu. L’obiettivo è quello di facilitare l’applicazione della legge da parte delle autorità di protezione dei dati e dei responsabili del trattamento. Il software è stato presentato a giugno dello scorso anno e quindi è stato pubblicato come software open source. Il suo utilizzo non richiede competenze specifiche e permette di preparare, eseguire, valutare gli audit e generare rapporti direttamente all’interno dello strumento. Questa iniziativa fa parte della strategia EDPB 2021-2023 che mira ad aumentare la capacità di applicazione delle autorità di protezione dei dati.

USA, LE AGENZIE FEDERALI RAGGUNGONO GLI OBIETTIVI STABILITI DALL’ORDINE ESECUTIVO DI BIDEN SULL’AI
Il Presidente Biden ha emesso – tre mesi fa – un ordine esecutivo che ha lo scopo di proteggere gli utenti americani da un uso “distorto” delle tecnologie derivate dalla Intelligenza Artificiale. L’ordine comprendeva azioni per rafforzare la sicurezza dell’IA, proteggere la privacy, promuovere l’equità e i diritti civili, difendere i consumatori e i lavoratori, promuovere l’innovazione e la concorrenza, e garantire la leadership americana nel mondo. Oggi, il Consiglio sull’IA che è stato istituto della Casa Bianca si riunirà per valutare i progressi compiuti. Le agenzie federali hanno completato tutte le azioni previste nell’ordine e stanno implementando altre direttive cruciali. GIAPPONE, I DATA BREACH SONO AUMENTATI DEL 50% IN GIAPPONE
E’ stato da poco reso noto dall’Ufficio del Commissario per la privacy dei dati personali (PCPD). che Hong Kong, nel 2023, ha registrato un aumento del 50% nelle violazioni dei dati, con più di 150 notifiche ricevute rispetto all’anno precedente. Nel rapporto pubblicato, sono stati segnalati 157 casi di hacking, perdita di documenti, divulgazione involontaria di dati personali e altre violazioni dei dati sia nel settore pubblico che privato. Gli episodi di hacking sono aumentati in modo significativo, passando dai 29 casi del 2022 ai 64 dell’anno scorso, rappresentando il 41% delle violazioni dei dati. EU, EDPB LAUNCHES WEBSITE AUDIT TOOL
The EDPB has recently launched a website audit tool to analyse the compliance of websites with European law. This tool was created by a group of EDPB support experts and is available for download at code.europa.eu. The aim is to facilitate law enforcement by data protection authorities and data controllers. The software was presented in June last year and was then published as open source software. Its use does not require any specific skills and allows audits to be prepared, performed, evaluated and reports to be generated directly within the tool. This initiative is part of the EDPB Strategy 2021-2023, which aims to increase the enforcement capacity of data protection authorities.

USA, FEDERAL AGENCIES MEET GOALS SET BY BIDEN’S EXECUTIVE ORDER ON AI
President Biden issued – three months ago – an executive order aimed at protecting American users from ‘misuse’ of AI-derived technologies. The order included actions to strengthen AI security, protect privacy, promote fairness and civil rights, defend consumers and workers, promote innovation and competition, and ensure American leadership in the world. Today, the White House Council on AI will meet to assess progress. Federal agencies have completed all the actions in the order and are implementing other crucial directives. Overall, these efforts represent significant progress in achieving the executive order’s goals of protecting Americans from potential AI risks and fostering innovation.
DATA BREACHES INCREASED BY 50 PER CENT IN JAPAN
It was recently reported by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD). that Hong Kong saw a 50% increase in data breaches in 2023, with more than 150 notifications received compared to the previous year.
