UE, IL CONSIGLIO CONSIDERA IL GDPR UN “SUCCESSO” MA CHIEDE UNA VALUTAZIONE COMPLETA
Gli Stati membri a 5 anni dall’entrata in vigore del GDPR, sottolineano come la protezione dei dati sia una “componente vitale” di una innovazione responsabile e di come l’approccio tecnologicamente neutro del GDPR abbia permesso di adattarsi alle sfide poste dall’evoluzione delle tecnologie. Premesso questo il Consiglio sottolinea che l’Europa è di fronte ad innumerevoli sfide che riguardano soprattutto i soggetti pubblici e privati ed è per questo che chiede una valutazione completa delle nuove strategie. Nella sua revisione, la Commissione terrà conto delle conclusioni del Consiglio dell’UE, del Parlamento e di qualsiasi altro organo competente.
UK, LE MODIFICHE PROPOSTE AL DISEGNO DI LEGGE SULLA PROTEZIONE DEI DATI INCLUDONO MODIFICHE SIGNIFICATIVE RELATIVE ALL’USO DEI DATI BIOMETRICI
Come abbiamo più volte ricordato l’utilizzo dei dati biomerici è piuttosto controverso. Nel Regno Unito ci sono delle proposte di modifica al disegno di legge sulla protezione dei dati e sulle informazioni digitali che includono variazioni significative relative all’uso di questi dati. Questi emendamenti mirano a migliorare la sicurezza e una loro caratteristica fondamentale è il rafforzamento dell’uso dei dati biometrici, come le impronte digitali, soprattutto da parte della polizia antiterrorismo.

FRANCIA, I POLITICI PROMETTONO UN’AZIONE LEGALE SUL PRESUNTO USA ILLEGALE DEL RICONOSCIMENTO FACCIALE DA PARTE DELLA POLIZIA
Da u recente rapporto emerge che la polizia francese ha utilizzato illegalmente un sistema di riconoscimento facciale proveniente da Israele negli ultimi otto anni e che questa attività ha condotto molti politici a pensare di intraprendere una azione legale. Secondo quanto riportato da Actual News Magazine i rappresentanti di France Insoumise, stanno anche chiedendo l’istituzione di una commissione parlamentare d’inchiesta per approfondire la questione.Prima che venissero sollevate queste preoccupazioni da parte dei rappresentanti di France Insoumise, anche il ministro dell’Interno francese Gérald Darmanin si era espresso sulla questione, respingendo il rapporto in questione come falso.

EU, COUNCIL CONSIDERS GDPR A ‘SUCCESS’ BUT CALLS FOR FULL EVALUATION
Five years after the GDPR’s entry into force, Member States stress how data protection is a “vital component” of responsible innovation and how the GDPR’s technology-neutral approach has enabled it to adapt to the challenges posed by evolving technologies. With this in mind, the Council emphasises that Europe is faced with countless challenges that mainly affect public and private actors, which is why it calls for a comprehensive evaluation of the new strategies. In its review, the Commission will take into account the conclusions of the EU Council, Parliament and any other relevant bodies.
